Common questions
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No — Team and Professional plans start with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required. Your card is only collected if you choose to activate your subscription after the trial.
What counts as an employee?
Any active member of your Waypoint organization counts toward your employee limit. Deactivated or removed users don't count. The limit is based on your plan tier — not a per-seat charge.
Can I change plans?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or switch between monthly and annual billing anytime from your Admin → Billing settings. Proration is handled automatically by Stripe.
What's the difference between monthly and annual?
Annual billing gives you a 20% discount versus paying month-to-month. You're billed as a single yearly charge upfront (e.g. $1,428/year for Team instead of $149/month).
Is my data private?
Absolutely. Your conversations, goals, and employee data are private to your workspace by default. We don't sell or share your data.
What does 'no numerical ratings' mean?
Waypoint uses descriptors — not numbers — across the entire platform. Talent assessments use Current Impact (Foundational / Consistent / Exceptional), Growth Trajectory, and Retention Risk. Goals have status indicators. Competency frameworks use language like 'Ready for Expansion' instead of a '3 out of 5.' The result: conversations stay focused on growth, not on defending a score.
